MercuryFreeDental.com ("the Site") is operated by SAJ Media Co. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. We are committed to being straightforward about our data practices — consistent with the transparency we apply to all of our editorial content.

This site is a static educational publication. We do not run a membership platform, sell products, or process payments. Our data collection is minimal by design.

What We Collect

Information you provide voluntarily

  • Newsletter email address: If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. This is the only personal information we collect through the newsletter form. We do not collect your name unless you provide it.
  • Provider listing submissions: If you are a dental provider and submit a listing through our signup form, we collect the information you provide: name, practice name, location, email, phone (optional), website (optional), and disclosed safety practices. This information may be published on the site as part of your provider listing.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, server logs may record standard technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and pages visited. If and when analytics software is deployed on this site, it will be disclosed in an update to this policy.

This site does not currently use Google Analytics or similar third-party tracking scripts. We do not use advertising pixels or retargeting technology.

Cookies and local storage

This site uses browser localStorage (not cookies) for limited functional purposes:

  • Remembering your newsletter subscription confirmation so the form doesn't show again
  • Storing provider signup submissions locally before they are reviewed

No localStorage data is transmitted to third parties. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

How We Use Information

  • Newsletter emails: Used only to send the newsletter you subscribed to. We do not sell, rent, or share email addresses with third parties. We do not send promotional email on behalf of dental providers or any other commercial entity.
  • Provider submissions: Used to review and potentially publish a provider listing on this site. Contact information may be used to verify submission details. We do not sell provider contact information.
  • Technical log data: Used for security monitoring, debugging, and understanding aggregate site usage. Not used for individual tracking.

Third-Party Services

This site does not currently integrate third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. If that changes, this policy will be updated before deployment.

The site may link to external resources (IAOMT, FDA, WHO, etc.). Those sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their practices.

The AI Content Engine (an internal admin tool) connects to the Anthropic API using an API key provided by the operator. Patient-facing pages do not send any user data to Anthropic or any AI service.

Your Rights

  • Newsletter unsubscribe: Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also request removal by contacting us directly.
  • Data deletion: To request deletion of any personal information we hold about you, contact us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.
  • Access: You may request a copy of personal data we hold about you.

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have rights under GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, and the right to object to processing. If you are in California, you have rights under CCPA. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information submitted to this site. However, no internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted over the internet.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
